There’s so much I want to get to faster than I’ve been. I’m currently working with my editor on my recently completed book. Don’t worry, soon enough I’ll be teasing the name. Beyond my writing I’ve been meaning to make a website for the publishing name I #selfpublish under. I’ve got some anti-social-media friends who want to get stories out there (& hopefully sell some). I could help if I got moving on making that page! So much to do, so little time. #writingcommunity #author ##bookstodon

#WordWeavers 9/23: Have your characters’ journeys affected your own life? If so, how?
Absolutely! Not so much their journeys, but the general optimism most of my characters have. It’s hard not to pick up that optimism after spending so much time with them while I’m writing a book

#ScribesAndMakers 9/22: Promotion day! Promote your work or others!
Lauren’s trying to follow the roadmap to a happy life, but got stuck after step 2. A chance encounter has her questioning if she even knows who she. Has she been living for herself or keeping up appearances for others? Can she even get back on track?

#ScribesAndMakers 9/21: What character from one of your own books or someone else's would you want to spend a day with? What would you do?
I’d love to spend the day with Lauren to see if she’s really as charismatic as shown through two books so far

2026-09-14 18:24:30 UTC

#ScribesAndMakers 9/14: What's your favorite type of story setting?
Present day with a tight knit group of friends

2026-09-11 19:08:53 UTC

#WordWeavers 9/11: What does your MC believe about themselves at the beginning of the story that turns out to be completely wrong?
True love is never who you think or want it to be

#ScribesAndMakers 3Sep—Which ebook reader do you use?
The original, basic bare bones Kindle

2026-09-04 19:10:20 UTC

#ScribesAndMakers 4Sep—If ebooks stopped being produced, how much would you miss them?
I’d be heartbroken. I’ve read almost only ebooks for well over a decade. I just can’t see myself returning to print. I love being able to adjust the font as needed. It’s also much easier to read 1 handed. Plus there’s the convenience of being able to pick up a book in seconds, either through buying or borrowing

#WordWeavers 8/28: What's one question you're still trying to answer about your story?
Is the unseen twist going to be too much for readers?

2026-08-31 19:15:25 UTC

#WordWeavers 8/29: What writing accomplishment are you quietly proud of?
I’m reading this question as quietly most proud of. For me that’s a few years ago when I got many emails and DMs from readers asking for more about my character Lauren. The book The Challenges of Being Me wouldn’t have happened without readers. Thank you.

2026-08-31 19:10:42 UTC

#WordWeavers 8/31: What's one thing you hope readers remember long after they finish your story?
The overall vibe, as well as the connection to the characters.

#WordWeavers 8/11: Which shelved project are you itching to get back to?
I started outlining April’s book while I was working on my #WIP. I don’t have the brain power to work on 2 different stories, so set it to the side. She was the new roommate in My New Roommate, and had important scenes I. the Challenges of Being Me. It’s only fitting that she get to tell her own story

I’m going old school for game 7. My kid has volleyball practice, and it’s just far enough away that it makes no sense for me to drive home only to turn around and come back. #ESPN app won’t let me log in with my TV provider, website won’t let you watch and directs you to the app. Looks like I’ll be listening to #WGR #WGR550 for the first period. #ScribesAndMakers 12.18 — Do you listen to music as an activity in itself, or is it more in the background?
I’d like to answer both. All day at work I’ve got music streaming for the office. It’s just loud enough to be heard, but not so loud to overwhelm and take center stage. Still, I do enjoy having it in. Same when I’m at home cooking or cleaning, it’s just on playing something I enjoy. Now, if I want to sit down and listen to something specific I’ll do that, just being in that moment

#ScribesAndMakers 14 July: Self-promotion day. Show us what you're proud of. Let's boost away.
The Challenges of Being Me is my latest novel. This piece of contemporary YA fiction follows Lauren as she’s filled with self doubt at not having life figured out as she’s about to graduate from college. She puts up a strong face, masking her insecurities that begin to crack through. Who is she supposed to be, that’s what even she would like to know. @npub1ny7…uv57 https://a.co/d/ecDNUHW

Every now and then I’ll look up my books to see if there’s a new #review . Holy cow, I received an organic one recently for The Challenges of Being Me! I’ve been struggling to get reviews, so this makes it so much more special. Someone out there loved my book! I’m so happy, I needed to share this with entire #writingcommunity , and maybe a couple of you will want to check out this “beautifully written” #book too https://www.amazon.com/Challenges-Being-Me-Friend-Group-ebook/dp/B0CLVTG628 @npub1ny7…uv57

Hello fellow #book lovers! I’m hard at work on my contemporary #YA #WIP and would like to ask for feedback on a potential title for my next book. You know, ask for collective feedback from the fediverse. Without knowing the plot, what are your thoughts on “Functional Baggage” as a title? Previous crowd-sourced questions & feedback are farther back in this thread. I still haven’t committed to any one title. #writingcommunity #author #authors #authorsofmastodon #amwriting

I’m no where near being done writing my #WIP, but thought of more possible book titles and wanted to ask what you all think.

I’d like some crowd sourced feedback on possible book titles for my not yet completed #WIP. The story follows the same MC and friends over a 20 year period, alternating between the past & present until the timelines catch up. I’m not committed to anything yet, but thought of these today and wanted to ask what you all think.

#SelfPromotion #SelfPromotionSunday The Challenges of Being Me is a #contemporary #youngadult story.
Step one: Attend and graduate from the same college as my parents and sister. Check.
Step two: Find someone during freshman year and start a relationship with them. Nope.
Steph three: Fall in love. Not in my cards.
Step four: Get married and start a family. Can’t do this until I get to step three. #KindleUnlimited #kindle #writingcommunity #author @npub1ny7…uv57

One of the more challenging types of scenes for me to write are crowd scenes. The challenge comes with where to focus the attention and how to have conversations among multiple people. It’s especially challenging now because I’m working with new characters, after spending 2 previous books with a different cast. What aspect of writing do you struggle with? #writingcommunity #authors #authorsofmastodon #author #amwriting @npub1ny7…uv57

I’m curious and thought the #writingcommunity might be able to share some insight. When writing contemporary fiction how do you handle bringing in real life places, companies, stores, sports teams, etc.? @npub1ny7…uv57

The Milano injury sucks. He was THE defensive leader before he broke his leg last year. Part of me is wondering if he’ll choose to retire after back to back huge injuries
