Can anyone recommend a #Mastodon
#GlitchMasto instance? Really keen to try out the formatting for an Experiment. I've tried Twoot.Site but the registration email isn't coming through 🙁
Please boost for reach, cos I am no influencer! Thank you 🙏

I saw this animation *years* ago on Twitter-as-was, and I absolutely love it.
Does anyone know who the author is? Pretty sure it's a woman academic doctor?

Can anyone recommend a #PeerTube instance for a #wildlife & #nature video channel I'd like to set up for a local non-profit.
I've had a look at https://joinpeertube.org/instances Local.Earth doesn't seem to be working any more, and I can't really find anything after a couple of hours of looking
Boosts welcomed, thank you! 🙏

In a minor aside, I was forced to use Copi-lot the other day to change a date field in an online Word document. No other way

I'm working on lots of cool projects at the moment with some super talented people. #ForestGarden #FoodForest #wildlife tower with a local artist.
This is a sketch of a Tŵr Gwyllt (Wildlife Tower) that the artist is currently working on, and I'd like to adapt the design for edible perennials and #NativePlants, as well as habitat

this is so cool, thank you! I don't know why but I am very attracted to lock picking. It's like someone saying "don't do this" to a toddler. Don't suppose you have made any online courses?

Margaret Roach is one of my gardening heroes. She has lovely online workshop *tomorrow* (Thursday) about #NativePlants, cultivars and nativars, well worth a look:
Nature’s super-power is diversity — you can see it in action even within a “wild-type” population of Hepatica americana (above), showing off some of the depth of the genetic range within its tiny blooms. Look at that breadth of color!
So what happens when we humans tinker with the genetics, nudging all the flowers to be one shade, maybe ... or larger, or later-blooming?
And how are the pollinators and other beneficial insects who rely on those plants impacted by our creation of cultivars and selections?
These are important questions for gardeners who desire both beauty and positive ecological impact.
I've invited Joseph Tychonievich to help us answer them.
Come discover the hidden differences between straight species, wild-types, cultivars, nativars, selections, and ecotypes.
Last Chance: "The cultivar conundrum" will be taught live on Zoom tomorrow (Thursday, January 29th) from 1-2:30 pm Eastern.

"This report should not have to exist. Shining a light on children’s experiences of poverty in 2025, in one of the wealthiest countries in the world, should not be necessary."
“For this research, they spoke with candour about things that most people would consider basic, but which for them are out of their reach: a safe home that isn’t mouldy - or full of rats, a bed big enough to stretch out in, basic food like bacon, a place to do their homework, having the heating on, privacy in the bathroom and being able to wash, having their friends over, not having to travel hours to school, or having a local park to play safely in where the grass isn’t overgrown and unusable.”
I've been writing an assessment for university about sustainable transport, and read this report about child poverty in the UK.

So angry that we are failing generations of children. It’s enough to make you an activist.
