Halloween decorations are up, but here's the real version for this season. A reminder of who got burned, and who's still here.
The witches have convened. The street is a pop-up coven, the signs, spellwork.
“Not Enough Sage” captures the moment when history’s witches return to take charge. Defiant, funny, and potent enough to clear a room of bad excuses. Open a window. The smoke alarm is going off again.

When I shot this I noticed how the glassy water mirrored the lue sky, forming bands of sand, sea and clouds.
"Let's save our beautiful Blue Marble" is a low tide view from Cape Cod.
Reflections and a narrow spit of shore guide the eye toward the horizon. I hope it nudges practical attention toward the ocean and the world we share, as if we're sitting inside a blue & white glass marble.

How's this for some fall color?
I'm hosting Janet Dyer's "Two White Trees in Harriman State Park." The bold reds and warm ochres lean into cool whites, while darker tones holds the composition steady.

Bernadette Longo's "Footpath at Dawn" invites you into a pale, mist-lit clearing.

Janet Dyer’s "Path through Green" lays out stacked planes of lime against deeper leaf tones.

It was a dark and stormy weekend, so I'm featuring "Rain over Dingle" by Janet Dyer: https://buff.ly/CyPsB0x
The wide, pale sky meets a low Irish landscape. A band of water takes on cooler tones while the darker, marshy foreground and a distant tree line give the scene weight.
Vertical streaks carry the rain across the view, creating a gentle tension between stillness and motion. Let it pause your day in a good way.

This is one of my favorite originals by Janet Dyer, "Colorful Field."
Layers of color suggest a shifting landscape; dark forms anchor the view while warm crimson notes keep the eye moving and a pale band reads like a small sunlit hinge.
The scene leans toward dusk without fixing the hour. Feels like fall, with a touch of the witching hour!

This is Janet Dyer's "Cherry Blossoms." The artist settles pale pink clusters against fresh green beneath a cool, open sky.
Pared-down shapes and small gestures that suggest a breeze and a gentle sense of depth. The low horizon and framing forms let the color do the work, a simple seasonal lift.

Janet Dyer’s "Winter on Route 202" sits in cool planes of blue and white that lead into a band of dark evergreens and small rooflines.

When you go "Peering through the Wood" here you'll get Tim Boese's view of Alaska mountains and a lake through a marsh.
Trunks rise like markers, dividing shadow and light, while a small pool mirrors the sky and a bright ribbon of meadow before snow-rimmed peaks.
The palette leans into olive, ochre, and spring green, and the light brings a steady, restorative presence without fuss.

Glaciers are disappearing, but you can display Alaskan "Glacial Volume" by Tim Boese.
This glacier sits at the ocean’s edge. Pale blues and near-translucent whites layer along the face, and the dark, snow-streaked peaks set the scale.
Low clouds leave the mood unsettled and cinematic. I like how this piece balances geological time with fragile moments of movement.

Are you ready for "A Path Through Snow" by Janet Dyer? No, it is still fall! I resist!

Janet Dyer arranges lavender, green, and sunlit amber into bands that climb the hillside, the rows pulling the eye uphill.

For me, the scale can overwhelm at times. I remember the first time, in junior high. A friend’s dad had a small plane in Alaska (our home). He took us up for a flight over the Knik Glacier, flying low despite the turbulence. We flew over the spikey jags and could see deep into the blue crevasses. A view I will never forget!

Ooh, thank you for your thoughts. One person bought a metal print of one of these glacier images, 28” wide, and the metal was just luminous too. I need to share your observations about contrast with him, as he was moving into a new place and still painting etc.

Tim Boese’s "Field of Pink Lilies" places a single Oriental lily against a repeating field. Tiny freckles and rust-colored anthers lead the eye to pollen-dusted cores.

I'm featuring Tim Boese's "Sitka Boats Wide Angle" on the site today.
The Sitka harbor in Alaska unfolds under a clear blue sky. Harbor light sharpens colors, deep blues and verdant greens, revealing stones through the shallows.
I host my brother's work alongside several other artists, each bringing a different perspective.
It's available as prints, puzzles, and a few other formats in our galleries.

An American flag hung over a low footbridge finds its mirror in the lake, framed by pines and two Adirondack chairs that seem to ask, "Want to sit for a spell?"

People still remember attending one-room classrooms. My mom found a few of these wooden desks years ago and refinished them for us to use for homework.
Pine floor and desks, scuffs and gouges and worn edges hint at passed notes and whispers.
I call it "Old School" to nod at what we may be losing in high-tech classrooms. Even old wooden desks with ink wells are technology-enhanced learning!

This protest sign reads "Keep your Tiny Hands Off Our Rights."
This message resonates so much in 2026. Some on the far-right even want to take away women's right to vote!
Dozens of tiny plastic hands frame the urgent demand and a screaming cat faces add comic fury.
I have a whole gallery of protest-themed, handmade activist art, called "Saving Democracy."

"Broken Trust" reveals small ironies: the stone cross carved with the name "Trust," but it has split and settled among autumn leaves in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.

A weathered sign reads "WELCOME TO BEAUTIFUL DOWNTOWN TALKEETNA." It's the town "Northern Exposure" was inspired by.

A neon-green placard reads "Tinkle Tinkle Little Czar, Putin put you where you are."
The hand-lettering nursery-rhyme cadence undercuts the punch—playful and pointed. The bright sign slices through the muted January event, turning a moment of protest into a timeless, witty statement.

A boy fishes for silvers at Eklutna Tail Race, sleeves rolled and hat brim low, standing in blue-green water.
Clouds reflect on the water and narrow ripples fan out from his boots. Reeds and his bright bobber near the shore make the waiting feel possible.
I shot several in this Eklutna series, but this is my favorite.

My "Bold Grizzly Shares the Road" captures a spring moment from the Alaska Highway.
A golden-brown grizzly moves through tender green shoots and dry stems, fur catching the light and its presence both powerful and composed, anchored by earth tones and textured fur.
Which detail grabs you first — the gaze, the curve of the back, or the way the light skims the fur?

Janet Dyer's Trees in Autumn takes us down a sunlit country lane under a clear cobalt sky. We follow a road that angles toward a bright horizon, past tall trees and a distant treeline of burnt orange, saffron, and russet, as if the season turned the color dial up a notch.
I like how the light keeps shapes simple and gives the scene a fresh, open feeling.

Spires and palms balance civic grandeur with approachable scale, the statue of Vittorio Emanuele II poised against the Duomo's layered silhouette.
Bring a touch of Milanese elegance to your space, with creamy stone and fresh greens. The equestrian figure lends an angular authority. (I never leave authorities unquestioned!)
Where would you place this in your home?

Janet Dyer's "On the Bank of the Ouvèze" finds a pale building beside the river, an ochre and orange ribbon guiding the eye across layered fields into a pocket of deep green.
The late-afternoon light warms shadowed tones into amber and gives the scene a gentle motion. The building's calm presence meets the livelier vegetation, like a small village breathing in the sun. The colors do the inviting work.
