whats the point of a modern replacement? idioms connect us across time and when they really have not modern sense (which there is enough understanding of cookware I don't think we hit that with pot and kettle) then it becomes an interesting backstory.

I don't see the point of this. its gpl. you can fork or see about working for an existing project or make your own thing. its like saying is doing art in a different way is ok.

Im thinking about in all the ways even streaming now. Im thinking before streaming the stooges would be a good contender. Was shown in movied theaters and had reruns going all the time on so many different channels. Its a wonder life used to be spammed in november and december before the ip was taken back out of public domain.
EDITING. Im thinking more about the same thing being rebroadcast I think which is why I was thinking its a wonderful life to. So like there are only so many stooges and they get replayed a lot as opposed to like the simpsons or doctor who running for a whole bunch of seasons.

yeah its like everything kind of stagnated with the iphone. I mean the 70's there was barely any electronics and then the 80's had all kinds of things and by 90's doing things by hand basically went away and in the aughts printing things out basically died out. I mean we have thigs advancing sorta but in ways I don't like. Like everything becoming and app and everything connecting to the internet and now getting ai integration.

I mean I can look at threaiverse things without having an account so not sure what would make it not open. It already has upvotes so not sure what more could be about boosting. I mean I don't want to be able to look at a feed that is more in conrol by me than an algorithm. granted algorithms are fine but I hope we can incorporate more how trust cafe does weighting.

I just don't think that is going to happen honestly. Better we just chart the best course we can and to me its better to keep from splitting the users to. I don't see why posts from communities can't go viral.

I honestly don't ee the point to twitter clones. famous people or anyone really, can make a community around their name just like they do with youtube channels. I like how mbin has a place for posting stuff and I think that should be in lemmy/piefed as well and should just appear as communities with the username in the domain. it should be the same as any community and the user acts as the creator and head moderator that cannot be removed and can fill out the sidebar with stuff about themselves (im a comic cretor super interested in astronomy, or whatever) and by default is should be private but people can move it to public if they want to utilize it as a personal forum.

Given the other ice statements directly contradicting video I don't believe them unless they are corroborated by a better source

Long ago I heard a guy talk about expressways and how initially there long distances between exits but then as suburbs grew more and more wanted exits of convenience near them at it just caused more and more sprawl. I think he was basically saying it never should have had exits that were not miles apart rather than less than a mile.

I don't really have urbanism viewpoint but Im a city boy by most peoples persepctive and would be more of one if I could afford to live downtown. Biggest reason is transit. I would be sad if I had to live outside of a true metro system that runs regularly and 24x7 even if the wee hours its somewhat of a wait. Then like walkability as I should be able to get most daily essentials without having to get on a bus/train/bike to pick it up. Next would be ironically nature. Public spaces with enough nature that I can still feel like a person and plenty of plants and trees everywhere so I don't feel like its all just concrete. Then we get into other infrastructure. Internet I think would be next there followed by hospitals and then libraries and then schools. I could do without the cars but my wife couldn't.

no, but I am putting them in my mouth and literally rubbing it over everything in there, and like the same one over and over again. For months.

Now this never really bothered me in the past but on hindsight I stick this thing in my mouth just like food so it would be good to know what its composed of. What really got me though is seeing toothbrushes that say whitening or antimicrobial which begs the question. Why is this whitening or antimicrobial? What the heck is in it that is doing this action??? Now that I think of it this might be more than mildly infuriating.
