long shot, but does anyone near austin/san antonio want a little baby puppy?
all the shelters are full, we can’t keep him, and i don’t have the heart to put him back outside. he was sitting in the middle of the street outside my house.

okay, so I need $1,000 *today* for my shit flood and I am embarrassed that I don’t have it and I do not want to fundraise for myself
in a month i will get a payment for a large contract. what if…i crowd fund my need, and then when I get paid in a month I donate $1,000 to a cause of our choice?

i got a very cheap pair of the weird open ear headphones to see if I liked the feeling, and it is such an odd thing to get used to after wearing over the ear headphones or airpods for so long. my ears feel so breezy.

I hadn't cried about how much I love Minneapolis in a few days, so this was a good one to read:
"Minnesotans will continue to keep Minnesotans safe until we rid the state of the federal occupation, just like lake ice is weakened by springtime sunshine and subsumed by the water below."

something from minnesota that i would like people to learn, that i don’t think is hitting people yet:
helping MN is good. people need it. but people in your community need mutual aid too. care. resources. food. outside of times of crisis.
and you can help.

2026-02-10 01:49:00 UTC

some guy wrote me an incredibly nasty email today from his regular email with his full name and i was bored so i decided to send it to every member of his family on facebook and his employer, a large MN nonprofit
good luck tom!

"Minneapolis is the home we love with our whole big hurting hearts. A city of lakes, creeks, springs and the big river, Mississippi or Gichii Ziibi in Ojibwe. In my mind, our city is a body, alive and coursing through us, even where sacred streams are sluiced under streets."
Letter From Mni Sóta Makóče: “...

if everyone could take on the “what if we just did the thing instead of waiting for it to happen” energy that much of minneapolis has right now, the world could be pretty good

2026-02-03 14:23:46 UTC

today is the last day i will ask you to donate to people’s rent this month.
we are trying very hard to meet a $30,000
goal today to help the last few families on our list before their rent grace period ends.

a woman reached out to donate 500,000 delta skymiles to get people home to MN as they are released from custody in TX.
we're getting flights booked today. it should be enough to get at least 15 people home.
delta should be doing for free since they take ICE money.

2026-01-31 18:10:00 UTC

if you feel like passing around a link today and helping fundraise for rent that will actually get paid today (and in the next few days for families who have a grace period) you can send here.
we will be going hard all day. i won’t be posting about it because I don’t want to flood your feeds.

2026-01-28 14:55:43 UTC

please remember that no matter how many “ICE is losing in MN” articles you read today, there is still a very real, urgent, ongoing crisis in Minnesota.
people need food and they need rent money. that has not changed.

2026-01-27 18:30:30 UTC

a reporter asked “is mutual aid a form of resistance?”
and i felt my body pulled into of a room of movement elders who have made this seem like a question i don’t have to think about to respond
of course
of course
mutual aid is an expression of love
love is an act of resistance

as it is particularly cold in Minneapolis and we hear scary rumors, I want to highlight a few groups.
MIWRC is operating a warming facility to make sure unhoused people are not on the street, especially during the hours traditional shelters are closed.

god, there’s apparently ICE agents in Bemidji, in northern MN. Bemidji is between my reservation and two others. there is very little diversity besides the Indigenous population.
