Happy birthday Noriko!
Watercolor painting (27x39cm) (+ a bit of gouache / colored pencils)
First time actually doing something for Noriko birthday, because, well, back-to-back birthdays and I never managed before. This time I believed in myself and painted both at the same time.
Now that I'm done with this though, I'll be reverting to 1 post/week for the next 2 weeks because I want to focus on painting acrylic commissions (all the supplies I've been waiting for finally arrived)

Happy birthday Nanami!
Watercolor painting (A3) (+ gouache + colored pencils)
Fish in fishnets (it's a bit tough to do in traditional media but well, I tried)
Rhinestones aside, this was supposed to be a pure watercolor, but SOMEONE couldn't keep their hands off wet paint and caused several bad smears, so I ended up using white gouache mixed with watercolors to rescue it. Plus some touches with colored pencils.

By the way.
You'd think at least watercolor would be spared from my increasing addiction to fluorescents.
No. I have a new toy.

Tamamo (monster girl quest) commission, marker drawing (A3)
I struggle to draw standing poses. Whenever I decide to draw one, I feel like *SOMETHING* is missing, so I ditch it and draw something else.
But this is a full commission and not a skeb-like, pose was part of it, so there's your rare case.
I spent what seems like 50% of the coloring time on the tails, pretty happy with how most of them turned out though.
(also, the tatoo is fluorescent)

Happy Birthday Yukimi!
Watercolor painting (27x39cm)
Didn't think I'd have enough time, but I managed it in 2 days.
Went back to the usual paper for fresh memory comparison. Definitely prefer the more expensive one I used for Momoka, but neither are bad (they just require different approaches)
Starting now I will be posting twice a week. Going to just go for it. Second post will be at arbitrary time (and might still be omitted if I feel overwhelmed)

It can't be captured perfectly on camera, but I can sorta show the effect with a video.
The difference in finishes makes the painting feel more "real", as the glossier light shades get lighter under direct light but matte shadows stay mostly the same.
I discovered this on accident because I use different brand paints. I treated the difference as an annoyance, but I had a realization that I can use it intentionally.
I like this so much that I ordered some acrylic mediums to control it better.

I've been working on the same acrylic painting pretty much non-stop for entire days straight since Thursday (certainly went over 50 hours by now)
Not done yet, but my legs and lower back are sore all over (I was standing the whole time), so I need a break. Will probably still make it in time.
Anyhow, spoiler. Censored by old Arisus for scale (and because it is funny)

Adding to my previous post.
A visual explainer of why exactly I will never do 2 fullbody characters on A4 again.

Happy birthday Arisu!
Watercolor + some gouache detailing (A3)
Had enough time left over to let it flatten a bit, but this is still the closest I've ever been to the actual birthday date.
I'm not off the hook yet though. Back to the watercolor mines...
Once I'm done with that too (long overdue), I'd like to restore my posting schedule. I might have been locked out of the platform where it started, but weekly saturday posting must continue.

I don't normally post WIPs, but since I'm speedrunning watercolor (a terrible idea) I've been taking photos because I will probably destroy it somehow (a ton of mishaps already but none of them have been fatal... yet)
Roughly a day between these, yesterday and today.
Only two days left...

Ok. Dealing with moderation and appeals entirely run by an AI was the last straw. I am so pissed that I'm not going back to twitter even if I get my account back. Also, out of spite, with the exception of Kaoru (I already sketched that one before), everyone remaining is getting microbikinis.
There are now less than 5 days remaining until Arisu birthday and I now have to rush to finish it but I WILL finish it. Not to mention the commission that got delayed again.
P.S. blow up every datacenter

Gouache painting commission (A4), Shinosawa Hiro
This was supposed to go on twitter but since that's suspended I'm posting it here.
I was very productive the past few days and the suspension hit me like a rock, but I decided that I will continue with my plans for the summer regardless, I don't want to just give up.
(also, the watercolor commission I was talking about previously is finally nearing completion)

@nprofile…5zyj I can hope that it won't be soon, but unfortunately it WILL happen again, these "spirals" have been recurring since I was like 12 (and I'm in my 30s now)
This time it was rather mild (by far the worst case was in 2022, I got COVID (40C+, fainted, ended up in hospital) + other health problems, just as I got out of hospital, a war started, I lost my job, and my cat I had since childhood got cancer and had to be put down)
I couldn't recover for about a year (until ~spring 2023)

@nprofile…5zyj I'm fine in that regard, it's actually better for me when I "drown" in drawing (both physically and mentally)
I had a burnout of sorts in may (which passed), this time I just got stuck in a negative loop (negative events -> negative thoughts -> self-neglect (stopped eating/exercising/taking care of myself) -> low energy/health consequences -> things get even worse)

Pillowdear, quick marker nude commission (4h 41m; drying time not counted)
Last thing that was still left to post for now.
It's been a while since I worked with this paper so I was rusty and failed lineart twice (this paper is just really damn slippery), went with the third attempt.
I think I'm out of the woods mental health-wise so I hope I'll be able to post something next week too (preferably the remaining watercolor commission)

@nprofile…5zyj Thank you! (really all I need is some time with nothing bad happening for once)

2026-06-25 21:30:12 UTC

There's one more finished thing yet to be posted, but I don't think I will be "back" quite yet after all.
My mental health has not been great lately and every time I almost recover I get hit by another misfortune, so drawing progress has been slow (I've just been barely keeping up with my plans for "sfw" accounts and I still have one big watercolor commission left to finish)
I hope that in another week or two I can get myself back in order.

Taffy Nekuma, commission for @nprofile…dmjp , same art done in both digital and watercolor (A4)
Painted using only lightfast pigments (mostly cadmiums, quinacridones, phthalos and cobalt blue)
The only uses of gouache are eye highlights (titanium white) and cat accessories (golden mica)
(both are also lightfast)

@nprofile…j6c8 Thank you, I might increase price in the future if I feel like it makes sense (not exactly drowning in commissions to justify it and not really experienced enough with traditional paintings in particular)
I already raised a few price points that I felt were too low when I put this together, digital was cheaper and I really undercharged for multiple characters (even more than now, lol)

Ohnuma Kurumi swimsuit, acrylic painting (A3)
Reposting off twitter because I have a bunch to say.
I feel like I made a lot of progress with acrylics and I'm starting to understand how to organize the painting process (until now it's mostly been ad hoc improvisation)
I had a lot of leftover paint mixes after this, and acrylic is very much "use it or lose it", so I immediately painted another thing which I will post later today.

Happy birthday Miria!
Most important drawing of the year (used to be the only one I'd finish, lol). Watercolor + gouache, A3.
I originally planned for it to be acrylic but once I settled on the idea I thought watercolor would be a better fit, despite the risk and my very limited experience. I was really scared of ruining it, but while I messed up plenty, I'm happy that none of the mistakes have been fatal.

Airi paizuri, watercolor + gouache painting.
Boob jumpscare. My deremas top 10 is populated almost entirely by lolis or around that... and then there's Airi.
It's interesting that many alcohol marker techniques are transferable to watercolor, they strangely share a lot of similarities (the difference mostly comes down to water vs alcohol), which cannot really be said for the other paints.

Shiina Noriko, acrylic painting.
Twice the rings.
Silly idea that I thought I'd draw with markers, but I really wanted to try out canvas paper that I just got. Changed the approach quite dramatically, I mostly applied heavy body paint directly instead of watering it down (previously I used watercolor paper)

In the past I've done quite a few commissions that I've been reluctant to post anywhere, but starting now I'm just going to live with my questionable decisions and start posting them on my third pixiv account:
https://pixiv.me/solmyr2000-r18ex
Uncensored versions will be available here:

I will just quietly update this folder instead of making separate posts here.

Ogata Chieri, today's 1-day marker drawing.
(5h 12m, w/ drying time: 8h 29m)
Used my more expensive paper... by accident. I took the wrong sheet and somehow it didn't hit me until I got to color. I put in more time into coloring to at least get some use out of its higher layering/blending capacity.
