Tonight's #aperitif #aperitivo is the #oystershell #Martini
350ml oyster infused gin
50ml vermouth dry
45ml water
The recipe is for a freezer door Martini, so mix everything and put it in the freezer, oyster shell gin recipe is in my previous posts, courtesy of a great Cocktail lover on the IG.
Great recipe and great aperitif!

Aaand I'm back!
Today's #aperitif #aperitivo is yet another #freezerdoormartini:
515ml Gordon's gin
100ml vermouth
85ml still water
You can fit alla the ingredients in the bottle (remember to enjoy the 185ml of gin left).
In Italy Gordon's gin is bottled at 37,5 abv, so less diluition is highly recommended.

Yesterday night #aperitivo #aperitif is the Death Star from Difford's Guide (a blessing to finish the odd bottles and start decluttering 😁).
30ml Pisco (better 45ml)
30ml Strega (substituted with Galliano, second huge mistake!)
30ml Cynar
Build in a fancy glass with a big chunk of ice (in my case a perfect transparent ice sphere) and enjoy.
This one is really good, but with such strong ingredients it must be handled with care! I've had two and this morning my head was hurting!

I was intrigued, so I've discovered that in Bergamo and in Milano took place the "Food Film Festival", from the 20th till the 23rd of August 2025.
I'm sure you've already checked it, but it was a novelty for me.
Maybe because I'm always abroad during that period of the year.

Tonight's #aperitivo #aperitif is another Grand Elixir (I've batched a few) from Difford's Guide (pre-batch recipe)
45ml Cachaça
22.5ml Yellow Chartreuse (or génépy liqueur)
15ml Honey syrup (3 honey to 1 water)
15ml Lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
15ml water
Store in freezer for a couple of hours then pour yourself a good coupe and garnish with a lime wedge.
I confirm it's a really good one.
Highly recommended

Tonight's #aperitivo #aperitif is a #gintonic
60ml gin Monkey 47;
75ml Fevertree Indian tonic;
Pour in a tumbler with a big chunk of ice and garnish with a lime wedge.
I'm a bit on the fence about this gin: it's good, but sometimes it's too aromatic (even for a gin tonic!). In any case: cheers!

Tonight's #aperitivo #aperitif is someting from the pre WWI era, a #polibibita from the #futuristi gang: il Decisone (the bici choice)
50ml Barolo Chinato

25ml amber rhum agricole
Shake&fineStrain in a chilled coupe and garnish with a tangerine twist.
I think this one is the only good thing made by the Futuristi movement in Italy (year, also some good paintings and sculpture, but from the political point of view...)

150ml high proof gin

This cocktail doesn't need any warm up before serving because of the highest proof of gin.

It helps enjoying the cocktail longer.
I've tried both the "ice+water+absinthe" rinse and the "chilled glass+spray coat absinthe".
The first one let you enjoy a side absinthe shot, but the latter is more "flavor effective", IMHO.
You need to reshake another ASAP to discuss the matter further 😁😁😁

No #aperitif #aperitivo tonight, I'm still trying to recover from a bad flu, so I'll post one I've had during the last holidays, the #Negroni Bianco:
30ml Xoriguer gin
30ml gran quinquina white Cap Corse
30ml Luxardo Bitter Bianco
Build in a fancy glass with a big chunk of ice and garnish with an orange slice.
The bitternes of Cap Corse and the strong juniper flavor of the wonderful Spanish gin helps a lot the "weak" Bitter Bianco.
Absolutely delicious, and such a trompe-l'oeil!

Tonight's #aperitivo #aperitif is the Peaty Martini:
45ml gin
15ml Islay whisky
15ml dry vermouth
Absinthe to rinse the glass
Stirr&Strain in a chilled Martini glass and garnish with a grapefruit twist.
This is a seriously good drink! One of the best Martini twist I've ever had.
