I think it says more about removing them. 😅

it's also excellent as a media player given its 3.5mm port. I rarely talk to Jarvis, but I love to have it on my desk

they are made of 3D rendering vaporware until some poor engineer has to design a process to actually build them.
Then yeah, Teflon. Out of spite.

I thought that too at some point, but the combo of apps and Adblockers I use is phenomenal. They react to changes in hours at most.

I go back and re-read this every few months and I understand more. https://jade.fyi/blog/flakes-arent-real/

intercept their requests and send them plain text files with a link to this toot, for all endpoints 😅 (mostly a joke, unless it's trivial in your technology stack. In that case I'm serious 😅)

in my case regarding your long-form writing, often I probably show up as one of those who read 0%, because I open your articles and ship them super fast to wallabag, to be read later on my e-ink device.
I don't mean to disprove your point, just to say that some of the apparent bounces might indeed be some of the completionists readers.

I am forcing myself to not have an opinion about *waves around* the world flocking to bsky like Charlie Brown running to kick the ball held by Lucy Bsky instead of Lucy Msk (oops, that's an opinion) but...
I've come to loathe clicking on #Bluesky links almost as much as X links.
I don't know what kind of frontend hell they are cooking up there but it takes up to 10 seconds to load a post, sometimes, where I have to stare at that bird that morphed into a butterfly.

this is an excellent example that the option to repair is not always easy though. I won't blame some people for skipping that option in many cases. I would TOTALLY blame the manufacturers though.
... But ok, this case wasn't the worst. The batteries were not even soldered. Do you think one of those tiny phone repair shops would have tried it? I'd feel way more comfortable with one of them trying it than me.
(I replaced a touch glass once and without a proper heat gun I made a mess)

100% agree, especially because one needs to be in control of one's content.
Plus if something is that egregious (I am not familiar with the example in question, I am behind on my drama diet) the internet will remember it somehow (internet archive, various Caches, etc) and the fact of the content being gone from its canonical location, for whatever reason (pressure, retraction...) *is* part of the story.

this. So much this.
The purity zealots (no AI no cars no software that isn't built on a full moon with a priest from the church of Gnu overseeing) make me spend less and less time here.
Don't you have similar issues on your videos comments?
(I am still pro fediverse more than average person, I consider "the magic of fediverse" quirks a small price to pay to have a platform whose rug can't be pulled from under half a billion people like twitter. But it's exhausting)
