One issue in public health is that if you do a good job- like you look for things before they are a known issue- you will find things. And now you appear to have an issue.
In Colorado, we look for West Nile. Our doctors test for it, our public health surveys for it. So now we have 5x more West Nile cases than any neighboring state. More than any state in the entire country.
But mosquitoes don't know about state lines. So do we really have a West Nile epidemic, or are we the only ones looking?

In honor of breast cancer awareness month: it's really hard to get an accurate statistic but MANY many cancerous lumps are found by romantic partners.
Please, don't be afraid to say something if you feel like you detected a lump in your partner's breast. It's not an insult. It's okay if it's benign and you worried them for 'nothing' because breast cancer treatability is very dependent on stage. Early detection matters so much.
Be brave, if you feel something, say something 🩷

@nprofile…kgju omg the county where I work but not where I live has one!! I'm actually so salty they won't give me a library card because I don't live here, I've always wanted to dabble around 3D printing!

If you feel lost and unsure what your next steps are, you can always start with going to the library.
Check things out. Doesn't matter what, get yourself a good story to read instead of doom scrolling.
Libraries and other safety net places will be working harder than ever to justify their funding. Keep their numbers high and healthy to make it a little bit easier for them.
