it's really not is my point, american christians didn't used to care about israel. it's materially different from the very real ancient history obsession with the holy land and taking it over. if christians were trying to actually take jerusalem out of the hands of jews, i would say the current day has a lineage to christian theology of the past. the historic connection of christias and jews, also, is uh, hating them and replacing them, which is a different thing than believing that rapture theology adores jews because they think it accelerates the end times but otherwise has contempt for them. I can tell you, coming from that background, the christian love for jews, even if its connected to rapture, is not a cover story. they legitimately love jews and israel, they just hold a weird contradictory system in their head
