There's 2,600+ BTC of volume in the past 24H on Kruw (nprofile…xamj) coordinator from WasabiWallet (nprofile…gldk)... that's $200M of volume being coinjoined in a single day. So it does work, and i use it everyday.

Lightning is not for very large amounts so i won't comment on that, but it's private for 99.9% of users who want to use it as their payment layer for everyday bills.

Newbies and privacy larpers would rather go with shitcoinery (Monero) route, than learn how to use Bitcoin and how it works.
