Can't read full artice. Park Cars would have been special on the Cavalier for moving carriages around and wouldn't be turned on. You were lucky.
From Montréal. there was the Cavalier at 23:30 to Toronto (equivaent left from Ottawa, and they met at Brockville, arrived 07:30 union station.
There was also the Montrealer, left about 17:30, arrived New York early morning, continued to Philadelphia and Washington. Took it a few times both ways. Had dining car with piano !
