I once pulled a friend out who got stuck up to his thighs in the mud by a tidal river. I don't know if it counts as quick sand. It was tricky because we were by ourselves and I didn't want to get stuck myself. I ended up laying driftwood down to get to him and then I was able to pull him out. We were probably 11 years old at the time.
