August was exceptionally warm across northwest Siberia and in much of the central and eastern Canadian Arctic. In contrast, eastern Asian Arctic and parts of the Nordic Arctic were cooler than the 1991-2020 baseline average. Overall, this was 4th warmest August since 1950 in ERA5 data, and four of the five warmest Augusts have been since 2023.
