Bluesky is blocking links to a leaked archive containing records on more than 41,000 US Department of Homeland Security employees and contractors. Published by the transparency nonprofit Distributed Denial of Secrets, the files include names, contact details and internal group memberships, some tied to surveillance and undercover operations.

Bluesky says the email addresses and phone numbers were shared without authorization, violating its community guidelines. It chose to block links rather than remove individual posts to preserve public discussion and access to reporting. Its website and app mark the archive links as malicious; at least one third-party app opens them without a warning. The records expose details of DHS organization and, in some cases, appear to indicate access to particular technologies. Bluesky did not say whether the block was automatic or requested by a government agency.
