Indeed; no matter how much the usual suspects hold him in disdain, _somehow_ he and only he has cracked the (partly) reusable rocket problem, and first test of fully should be next month. If you did not feel a thrill when you saw the simultaneous landings of the two side boosters for the Falcon Heavy test flight, your soul is dead, black, and/or sold to the prince of this world.
Meanwhile, the headline is not inaccurate compared to the text:
"Elon Musk says money will be 'irrelevant' if his vision of a multiplanetary future comes true in generations"
Anyone who's paid real attention to Musk knows he's big on aspirational goals. And on achieving them, albeit not always in the desired time. ___He inspires people___ which is great for most of us, and unforgivable for others (you thought _Atlas Shrugged_ was too fantastic?).
There's massive, massive wealth out there, energy, all the elements, etc. etc. He's including "AI" and robots in this vision, BTW.
This is very much like the misquoted _aspiration_ of the guy who wanted to eventually see from nuclear power plants "energy too cheap to meter." Metering is a cost, after all.
But it ignores too much of human nature like the envy or worse driving Chad McCullough (npub1ded…kves), the future could for example take a bad turn like in First Gundam for the desire to control and/or kill other humans is wired into us, see the Protestant Work Ethic concept, etc. etc.
