Please investigate the DHS facility on the Fort Bliss Military base in Texas. More than 2,700 people are being held by ICE in tents, and I want a Congressional investigation into the goings-on at the camp.
Newspapers report beatings and sexual abuse. There are reports coming out of Mexico that people who are not Mexican citizens are being clandestinely deported to Mexico in the middle of the night.
In a letter to both DHS and the Fort Bliss military command, a coalition of human rights organizations accuses officers at the immigration facility on the base of being in violation of agency policies and standards, as well as statutory and constitutional protections.
The increased secrecy of putting an ICE detention facility on a military base was meant to keep outsiders from seeing what is going on.
ICE abuses must stop. ICE officers are committing murder in their detention operations, and they are withholding medical treatments that result in people dying in their custody.
I want you to stop it.
This Republican Administration is running roughshod over well-established laws and policing procedures.
There is no mechanism I have seen that holds them accountable.
Defund ICE. Cut their budget to zero.
Impeach Noem. Stop the consistent lies to the American people.
Start the accountability.
