There's a voice in my head going "you absolute fool! Why would you expect any different? This is obviously just how things work."

I would like that voice to shut up already. I don't think it's helping me. It's cynical about government, sure, but in a "just let it happen" kind of way.

There's nothing to pursue here, nothing I can change, but I'm not going to gaslight myself into acceptance either. If this is "obviously" how it works, then "obviously" some shit is broken.
