Yeah, the Catholic church tries really hard to make sure those novitiates are pure before they marry God. It isn't a requirement in most orders I don't think, but there is a huge emphasis on making sure that this woman trying to get close to the King of Kings isn't some cabbage muffed roastoid that will make problems for him.
