Hey brother! 👊 I just wanted to say I really love your energy and the positivity you’re spreading through the Bitcoin message. It’s awesome to see the work you’re doing and the light you’re bringing to the community.
I hope you don’t mind me sharing a thought, and I don’t mean this as criticism at all. Having seen some of your recent posts about donations and funding, I just wanted to suggest that alongside donations, it might be worth putting more focus into building a sustainable business model with multiple income streams.
For example, I’m sure you’re familiar with Bitcoin Ekasi and some of the amazing things they’ve been doing, from surf lessons and tourism-related services to merchandise and other community initiatives. They’ve been at it for a while and have built some really interesting ways of generating value and income within their local community.
I think there’s something powerful in that approach. Whether it’s education, training, merchandise, tourism, local services or whatever makes sense for your community, creating tangible value gives people more ways to support the mission beyond simply donating.
Of course, donations absolutely have their place, and as the project grows and more people connect with what you’re doing, I’m sure they’ll continue to come. But I wouldn’t want to see you relying on donations as your main source of income, because ultimately, as much as people want to give, we can’t solve all the world’s problems simply by redistributing the money we already have. We also need to create sustainable systems, businesses and opportunities that generate value and empower people in the long run.
And I know you’re already taking action — I just think there’s an opportunity to build on that in a way that makes the whole thing more financially sustainable and resilient over time.
Perhaps yourself, Hope with Bitcoin and other projects could even reach out to Bitcoin Ekasi, share experiences and learn from what they’ve built. They’ve been doing some really innovative things, and there could be a lot of value in exchanging ideas.
Anyway, I hope you take this in the spirit it’s intended, man. I’m only sharing it because I respect what you’re doing and would love to see it thrive for the long term. Keep spreading the light! 🤙
