Oh, for sure. They're pest control wherever you are (and trying to get rid of spiders in your home is a pointlessly futile exercise anyway, because you're only ever seeing a tiny fraction of the ones that are there).
Just highlighting the parallel that by getting rid of some species of spider - if that's your thing/phobia - people could be making things worse rather than better for themselves.
