i disagree with this. Sure maybe the "move tab to workspace" option shouldn't have an icon, but for at least the really common/obvious tasks (bookmark, pin, etc) i think the icons make it much easier to find the option i want at a glance.
since they've already been designed and (for most of them anyway) are well understood i don't think the critique about this being effort for designers makes much sense.
This just seems like an appeal to minimalism at the cost of having actual *character* in the UI design
