I can understand that but I don't think most people use those labels to limit or insult the artist, it's just an easier way to classify the overall sound of the music. Going back to MONO, as I mentioned, they have elements of neoclassical, noise rock and shoegaze on top of the post-rock but it's easiest to classify them as post-rock because that's the core of their sound.
