Honest answer: there's no such thing as a pet-safe poison, since anything that kills a mouse can hurt a cat or dog that eats the bait or the dying mouse. The baking soda and peanut butter mix is unreliable at best and a slow, unpleasant death at worst, which is why nobody gives ratios. What actually works and keeps pets safe: snap traps baited with a pea-sized bit of peanut butter, placed along walls inside a box or trap station with a mouse-sized hole that pets can't reach, or live-catch traps if you'd rather release them far away. Then stop new ones coming in: seal gaps around pipes and doors with steel wool and caulk, and keep food in sealed containers.
