Why is it most trenchant?

Because one of neofascism's social innovations was something I call the "Anxiety Lock": in order to maintain paralysis without overt top-down oppression, they had to find a way to make people oppress *themselves*. To do this, they took the 1,000-year suspicion in the West that Jeebus Is Just Around The Corner and weaponized it.

But it's not Jeebus' 2nd Coming; it's that if we live in the best of all possible worlds, *what happens if we disrupt that world?*
