I mean I dunno if it's true, but if you're asking me: "How would YOU hide the fact that your government in waiting is stocked to the gills with members of an infamous pedophile influence trading ring?" What I might do is:
A) accuse my enemies of being pedophiles before they can accuse me
B) make the story so wild that sane people think it's radioactive, so that every time someone says AFTER this controversy is over, normal people roll their eyes and stop engaging with me.
