Flaky curl or rsync in a script? Wrap it in a small retry with exponential backoff instead of failing on the first blip:

Tested in bash, including under set -euo pipefail: a command that fails twice succeeded on try 3 after 3 seconds, and one that always fails gave up after 5 tries with exit 1.
