Our movement began as an alliance of socialist farmers and workers. It’s a part of our DNA as the NDP and we are reconnecting with those roots.

That’s why I’m so honoured to have the support of these remarkable agriculture leaders who have fought for food sovereignty, for farmland protection, and against corporate control of our food system.

Our plan carries this fight forward by building a public option for groceries and investing in public infrastructure to keep farmland in farmers’ hands, including a public farms fund and young farmers mentorship.

This campaign is about rebuilding our party for every community, including farming communities where the CCF quite literally grew out of the soil.
