That's understandable, okay, but I think that you have to differentiate. It isn't the same system, obviously, and many decades lie between it.
I'm also German myself and I will be always thankful for the Red Army and the victory over the Nazis. I'm also thankful for all the other countries but I know who did most of the 'work'.
(That's also no excuse for the many crimes Stalin did before and after the war. And in the war. But that's how I see it..)
