the more i think of AI code generation the more it reminds me of 1966 and the transition from assembler to higher level languages. and the fumbling at what HLLs were useful for what. and learning to design HLLs. the big advance with claude et alia is that the rentiers have figured out how to charge me per compile while destroying the planet.
