Ours is a system that elevates and idolizes monsters. From the bizarre excesses of aristocrats like Caligula to the robber barons of the Gilded Age to today, same assholes-- and the same fools somehow buying the idea that the assholes are superior to mere mortals, and that we should serve them to curry their favor.
