“two hundred neo-Nazis dressed in black, who shouted slogans such as, ‘French people, wake up—you are at home here’. Following the civic gathering at Place Bellecour, the group moved through Lyon—continuing after the start of the curfew—until they reached Place Carnot, just outside the area subject to the curfew. They marched behind, among other things, a French flag emblazoned with a Celtic cross—a symbol used by far-right and neo-Nazi groups worldwide. They chanted slogans such as, ‘The streets, France, belong to us’, ‘Islam out of Europe’, and ‘Scum in prison, liberate the city of Lyon’. Concerned residents of the Presqu’île district filmed the far-right procession on Monday evening.”
