I dunno if I've mentioned this before. Probably. We have grapes grapes growing on a chain-link fence here in Regina. I'm not big on maintaining or harvesting them, but my neighbour was. He put in extra trellises and such to grow more (for wine-making). It was to the point where he was harvesting 4-500 pounds of grapes in the fall, filling many 5-gallon pails for himself and for relatives.
Our aren't the deep purple/blue like yours - which remind me of Concord grapes - but a green kind, maybe a bit smaller than your pictures.
When I first moved to this house, I was very surprised to find that any grapes grew here. I'd lived in this province for 20 years at that point - how had I never heard of it?
