It's extremely headass that no one thought before now to say, "hey, maybe putting the bulk of the entire government under control of the executive branch and *one fucking person* is a bad idea."
Honestly, it baffles me how people rarely point out how fundamentally flawed the US government is beyond complaining about the electoral college. Every branch of government is designed like shit. The president has too much power, the Senate in its entirety is stupid, the House having a cap and letting states pick how they elect representatives is idiotic, and just, like, *all of the judiciary*. It's all shit.
A proper Democracy needs to be as representative as possible while also being somewhat insulated from the reactionary whims of the populace. The US is neither. It lives to serve rich oligarchs, built on a terrible constitution that bent the knee to slave-owning southern plantations.
