where I live, we're in a decades long drought. How they gonna fill it? They always turn to storing more water but won't restrict people from watering yards (60% of water use)
Also, resovoirs here tend to be put in where there's already natural habitat, end end up destroying existing nature instead. Dams are also terrible for stream health, impacting the natural seasonal highs and lows of the stream. Plus it completely blocks aquatic migration, so can screw up fish populations.
