Just finished "A Half-Built Garden" by Ruthanna Emrys. Set in the 2080s the novel centres around first contact with an alien intelligence, but dives deep into runaway climate change, gender norms and posits a fascinating idea of how social algorithms could be used to help rather than hurt human discourse.
Should be required reading for all Mastodon users.
