You can say it's not their original work, but I work on kernel stuff and I'm finding there's guys that can do stuff with LLMs that I can't ever hope to do, with or without.
Like, reverse engineering a 50,000 line kernel module from binary and writing code. And it's not perfect by any stretch but dammit it works.
And I can't do that manually, at least not in less than 5 years of work, and I don't think I could wrangle an AI to do it either.
So even if you consider the AI output "not their work", something went into that AI that you can't do and I can't do and it got that AI to make that thing...
