I've just found my 17 year old Kobo reader. It's charging, but I don't know yet if it will hold a charge.
But I did turn on the wifi, and it said "Last Sync - 15/12/22"
It then proceeded to update the firmware. And the update has worked.
Enshittification is a choice, not the nature of technology.
