2. I AM from the old testament was literally Jesus (John 1:1-3
The Jews fundamentally misunderstood Jesus' teachings from the very beginning, which is why they were repeatedly punished.
The Law of The Old Covenant was never valid and The New Covenant was enacted across all time, past present and future, at Jesus' death and resurrection.
