Over the years I have dabbled (very unsuccessfully!) with Kontakt a few times. Every timed seemed ridiculously convoluted (konvoluted!?) and always combined with a "Join our collective, assimilation is painless" Borg-like feel.
Addictive Drums floats my boat, as does Pianoteq, both of which offer an entirely opposite experience to Kontakt. For general other sounds I rarely need to look beyond HalionSonic tbh. I know that's just for me of course though.
