19y ago today I joined Twitter and spent months fascinated by how the feed went by faster than you could keep up, so unlike forums, blogs, LJ etc. For years it was great, weird, informative, newsy, though horrible at times…
Over time “actually” culture became gotcha culture. Trolling fed by bots grew dominant. I blocked & blocked (eventually >100k accounts). Not fun. I posted less, then stopped, then disabled my account, then just deleted it in disgust
But those early years bring fond memories
