I think Matrix is probably going to come next. I'm not sure how well it will go without a FQDN, but I managed to make Nextcloud functional, so I think I've got a chance. Since this is an off-grid system, it won't connect to other servers.
Had a port binding conflict between dnasq and tinydns, which I resolved.
But the blackbox repo stopped working. It's not my scripts either. Manually using the imstructions from their readme doesn't work either. I filed a bug with them.
But that was the initial project that got me started on this little side quest. It's the one that I wanted the most. Everything elae was just... extra.
