when my dad had his fence business about 65% of the jobs we got were word of mouth. we did an excellent job and did the work quickly but the biggest selling point for people was "You pay us when we're done"
I might actually restart the business and do it myself because I can do as good of a job as my old man did and for the longest time he did his jobs by himself and on the weekends I would help him hang the gates.
