For too long we've relied upon potential civil liability as the primary means of deterring harmful behavior. But the system is expensive and slow, for all that it has been effective. These guys want to get in front of all that by getting preemptive immunity from liability which is just insane when you think about the fact that they are essentially unleashing a dangerous instrumentality with unknown potential for harm.
