I'm tired.

#1: I'm tired of people pretending that politics only matter because of Trump, or that somehow he's not advocating what the GOP has advocated for decades. He's not the big bad evil guy in a fantasy novel, just a wannabe despot, and when he's defeated, these political issues aren't resolved.

#2: I'm tired of people pretending that somehow Kamala/the Democratic party is a good thing in the states. They've been very careful to only push for the bare minimum at best in terms of changes regarding civil rights, they accept bribes from the same people as Trump, they statistically are almost indistinguishable from the GOP in terms of actually implementing popular policies, and they consistently are anti-any sort of stronger reform because they like the current status quo, including the GOP! They're only as upset as they are about Trump because the status quo could change. Kamala is by far the better option than Trump, but she's still a cop and she's still not going to push for any substantial reform.

#3: I'm tired of Americans pretending they have a democracy. Statistically, there's next to no correlation between popular approval for a law and its implementation unless you account for wealth instead of people. You've also got the Senate, and the electoral college, and a thousand other things designed to specifically and intentionally suppress the will of the people. You've also got a federal government that actively steps in to override the will and rights of the people, especially via its judicial branch, and you have the ridiculous monstrosity of the American justice system in general, a system intentionally designed specifically to suppress minority and leftist groups. In addition, the US has some of the most powerful propaganda in the world, notably including mandatory indoctrination from extremely young ages in many schools with pledges of allegiance and other nationalistic teachings, inequality designed to funnel people into the military, and military-approved mass media. You're not a democracy; you're a republic. A republic is not a democracy or even close to it; a republic is "what if we did fascism-lite instead of fascism, designed to look slightly democratic, but pretended that somehow our authoritarian nationalism was different?" Local elections are at least more democratic, thankfully, which is a saving grace, but their decisions can be overridden by higher powers that are less accountable.

#4: Despite all that, I'm still tired because Trump & co legitimately represent a direct existential threat and could reasonably end up in power. I'm also tired because no matter what, the US is still an active threat to my life even with Kamala in power. If I have to go back there for any reason, I will likely be instantly homeless and likely deprived of most of the things that I care about because of the US's medical and economic systems that are enforced on threat of state-sponsored violence, and that's assuming that I can even afford to survive with my medical issues at all. It's an active danger to my existence and nobody gives a flying fuck because the system is intentionally designed to enforce cruelty onto undesirables and to create an underclass to funnel people into nationalism and the military, as well as to encourage complacency at best and hatred of the other at worst in order to foster "good citizens".

I'm just fucking tired of this.
