I would disagree regarding these non-hypotheticals: the LAPD destroys a homeless encampment or an occupying force bulldozes evacuated houses. Destruction of property is to deny living things means of shelter, survival, livelihood, and, often, a bald demonstration of a power to inflict misery without consequence. I would add destruction of a commons is an act of violence against a community.
