One of the many annoying things with pollen allergies is that one can't use a window fan to cool down unless it's like middle of winter, when all the emitters have ceased. At which point it's usually not useful to use them.
No, air purifiers do not suffice with any amount that is reasonable to use and won't cost more than just acquiring a window air-conditioner, I have tried.
