I have been seeing my mom become more progressive and challenging my aunts and pushing them to be more critical of BJP and Islamophobic narratives. But they will not touch the caste-order. Everything else can go but the organisation of society and labour on the basis of caste-class, and brahminical patriarchy is sacred. And this is the biggest crime of this movement; it does not address casteism at all. When Dipke revealed his caste, many people abandoned ship and even subjected him to casteist abuse. I don’t think CJP can afford to be too “political”.
Also, obv, India as an occupying entity - the Israel of South Asia… but that is a test even many Indian communists fail at.
My point is that maybe the CJP will be able to mobilise people and perhaps even restore some semblance of liberal order in a few states here and there… but the rot of caste holding this country together will remain. I genuinely believe that needs to be eradicated by force.

sonam wangchuk's dedication to being apolitiical comes in display here. all nationalist left parties have attached themselves to the protests even while other centrist parties are biding their time and putting out reels, the backbone of the protest are leftist student bodies like AISA, and Wangchuk's wife ends up saying this about her husband being snatched up by the govt to be force-fed in a hospital:-
> “India is not a communist country where the government decides which hospital a patient goes to.”
