I'm both happy this article exists (as a public librarian, and not one in a state having the sort of state-level challenges to kid/YA reading) but also a little surprised at this "it’s been very hard to measure because it’s totally chaotic." Like... yes it's hard to measure but the biggest library association in the world actually does their best to measure it and I was surprised that there was no mention of the American Library Association (or any library association) in this article.
