We used to go to this friend's house because he had a NES and we would play Ninja Gaiden.
His mom loved soup and would make a pot for herself since no one else in my friends family seemed to like it.
So one day, she offers mea cup of soup. Which, like, homemade soup, are you kidding? Of course I want.
And afterwards I was my friend's mom's soup buddy. I would sit with her at the table while the other boys were playing NES.
Been forever trying to repay that kindness, you know.
